I must admit we were a little unsure as to how the week would go in October and whether our local schools would be interested in our site visits seeing as we are a relatively small manufacturer.

How wrong could we have been!

We had attended the launch and signed up from there and it was at the “Meet the Schools event that we realised how much interest there was and what a brilliant initiative this was going to be.

We welcomed four local schools across three days of site visits and had some great feedback from both students and staff alike.  It was great to see so much interest and enthusiasm in what we do here at TF and our visitors were amazed at the different machines we manufacture and the technology used.

We always take on apprentices at TF Automation and are passionate about engaging with young people and getting them inspired by engineering and manufacturing.  We feel it is vitally important to work with our local community to highlight the opportunities available for post 16 education and training in the Bradford area and Bradford Manufacturing Week is a great way to promote this.

We are currently planning this years’ visits and working out how many students and schools we can accommodate over the two weeks and are really looking forward to opening up our doors again in October.
