We were delighted to open our doors to local Bradford students again this year for Bradford Manufacturing Weeks 2021. Now in its fourth year, the initiative created by Bradford Chamber of Commerce is a highlight for us at TF Automation. As an inaugural supporter of the event, we feel passionately about educating students as to what manufacturing and engineering can offer as a career choice and in the local area too!

This year we had around 90 students from 5 different local schools visit us; some had been to us before and others were new this year.

As well as an overview about who we are and what we do, we showed the students our manufacturing plant and workshop and focused on the wide range of machines we design and manufacture and the technology we use. Due to support from suppliers we were able to demonstrate laser marking, vision sensor and inspection equipment, as well as a COBOT, which was of real interest to the students.

Our young apprentices got involved this year too by creating a video of questions and answers relating to their apprenticeship journey, why they decided to do it, what’s involved and their future plans. Both students and teachers found this very useful as it answered their questions in a straightforward and direct way.

Tony Hubbert, Managing Director at TF commented, “We were delighted to be able to get students back on site safely this year after last year’s virtual event. Nothing really beats being able to engage with students face -to-face and for them to actually see the working environment and what’s involved. It was also good to get engagement and interest in our company from schools who had not visited us before – the feedback from all has been fantastic!”
