2018 proves a productive and interesting year for TF
It has been a busy year at TF Automation, with a diverse range of process automation projects across numerous industry sectors having been commissioned and delivered.
TF Automation has worked with Bolton Plastics, market leaders in the manufacture of blow-moulded automotive components, since 2007. A particular project this year was to design a solution that required HDPE air ducts to cool batteries in electric vehicles for their automotive client. The new machine is a substantial improvement in terms of production speed, product yield, improved consistency and quality, as well as allowing for tooling changes.
We work closely with many clients on designing identification and tracking processes, crucial to their particular production line. The challenge for one client was to design a system to dot mark fulcrum steel pivot pins, where the machine was required to move the steel pins, position them individually and then perform the identification marking. Our team designed a bespoke stand-alone machine with a part-transfer system incorporating a Telesis Dot Peen Marker. This versatile system adjusts automatically according to the different pin lengths, diameters and shapes as required by the client, to ensure correct positional marking.
We also opened our doors to around 30 students from 3 different schools in Bradford as part of the Chamber of Commerce initiative – Bradford Manufacturing Week 2018. The event was set up to engage schools with local manufacturers and through a series of site visits we provided an insight into the world of engineering and manufacturing. Bradford Girls Grammar School commented “We thought the trip was a great success and not only gave the students an insight into your business and engineering but also taught them about Bradford Manufacturing Week and why it was important. Thank you very much for holding the session and hopefully we will be back next year!”
We were also delighted to launch our new brochure this year, giving clients old and new the opportunity to take a closer look at TF Automation, our expertise and how we help and support clients. A further marketing initiative being the launch of our new WEBSHOP, packed with literally thousands of pneumatic and industrial components, from all the leading brands. With the addition of new members of staff across manufacturing, engineering, design and technical sales plus a young apprentice, it has been a productive and interesting year!
