Plastic Fuel Tank Trepanning
The customer is a long-standing supplier to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and we worked with them to provide an outstanding solution.
To cut a neat hole in the blow-moulded fuel tank which also ensured a Swarfless finish.
A fuel tank is clamped and pierced to cut a hole using controlled hydraulic feed. The piece is retained and disposed of in a bin where it is sensed for presence (if the piece is not detected in the bin, the machine stops). The tank is then vacuum-cleaned to ensure Swarfless cutting and then the finished part is returned to the operator.
It has been so well accepted that we have developed an on-going relationship and have now supplied machines for the past three years.
